Update October 9, 2021: The Dr. Martens x Herschel Collection officially launched this morning, and we’ve updated the post below with links.
Fall brings leaf viewing, pumpkin spice, hot apple cider, and the hottest fashion collaborations. Two iconic brands, one that not only kept you looking good but also your grandparents, and a modern bag brand that is on everyone’s shoulders, have come together for a limited edition collaboration. Chances are you’ve worn items from at least one of these brands. Now, they’ve come together in a new killer boot.
We’re talking about the incredibly revolutionary footwear company, Dr. Martens, which partners with Herschel Supply.
Since the 1960s, Dr Martens has made the world’s best known combat boots. Adopted by both the Punk and Grunge movements, designers frequently use them on the catwalks, and they’re just plain cool. The other half of the partnership is Herschel Supply. The company is quite young; they’ve only been around since 2009, but they’ve made a global impact with their premium products (one of the company’s backpacks is a popular item in our Christmas gift guide 2021). Brothers Jamie and Lyndon Cormack, the founders of Herschel Supply, instinctively figured out how to take the modest backpack and turn it into something more than just a bag for storing books or sportswear.
This collaboration follows the Collaboration Dr. Martens X Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and what can we say, but Dr. Martens is on a roll, and you’ll want to grab their latest shoes before they sell out.
These two brands brought their creative heads (and dreams) together, and taking inspiration from rugged Pacific Northwest and British streetwear, the duo revamped both the Combs II boot and the Reeder shoe. Now insensitive to bad weather, they always retain their beauty par excellence. These shoes go on sale October 9 and will only be available for two days. Yes, only two days.
Dr. Martens Herschel Combs II Boots
The Dr. Martens Combs II boot is such a distinctive boot that once you spot it, you realize you really need it in your life. Herschel takes Martens’ classic combat boot and doesn’t just make it weather-worthy with an upper covered in CORDURA® ballistic nylon and a water-resistant slippery leather upper. The Combs II Herschel boot also features a reflective tongue, brushed silver hooks that highlight the black eyelets, and black and white braided laces. Why wear a boring rain boot when you can wear these beautiful, limited edition water resistant boots instead? Yes, of course, the Herschel Combs II boots have the brand’s air-cushioned sockliner, but the tract outsole is now done in tonal smoke, which elevates its style. The boot features a red AirWair heel loop and black Herschel tongue.
Dr. Martens Reeder Herschel Shoe
If you are a huge fan of Dr. Marten and wear their lace up shoes, you will really appreciate this cute update. Like the Combs II Herschel boot, the Reeder has been optimized for style and durability. The upper of the Reeder Herschel shoe is covered in the same water-resistant slippery leather and CORDURA ™ ballistic nylon and also sports the same functional details as the boot. They feature smoke outsoles, a reflective tongue, black eyelets and silver hooks, a red AirWair heel loop and a black Herschel tongue. And of course, they wouldn’t be Dr. Marten shoes if they didn’t have the air-cushioned sockliner and yellow stitching.
