Gabrielle Union moved in with husband Dwyane Wade – which she did in style.
The “Cheaper By the Dozen” actress danced in a monochrome beige outfit by Giuseppe Di Morabito, consisting of a trench coat and belted Bermuda shorts with a wide silhouette. The pieces were completed with a sleek halter top, which wrapped around Union’s bodice to create large cutouts in the front and sides. The elegant look, designed by Thomas Christos, was completed with a fine gold necklace and earrings.
“How the night started…” Union shared the caption, posing with Wade – who was also dressed in a pink Versace suit, white shirt and sneakers, styled by Jason Bolden.
As far as shoes go, Union’s shoes provided a stylish finish – and a fashionable throwback – to her look. The ‘Being Mary Jane’ actress wore a pair of Rodarte open-toe wedges from Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s disco-inspired Fall 2015 collection. The style featured reptile-embossed brown leather uppers, which included slingback straps and side cutouts. The pair’s finish consisted of beige platform soles and thin stiletto heels, connected by a transparent lucite wedge, which totaled at least 4 inches in height.
The high shoes were ideal for Union’s evening look, as well as her accompanying dance routine – which she captured in a Instagram reel with an assist from Wade. The basketball star cheered on Union as she danced to City Girls and Five Foreign’s ‘Top Notch’ – that is, until the song stopped and he was heard saying “Yeah,” prompting Union to quickly stand up.
“How the night ended. @dwyanewade is a hater. Maybe if my stance wasn’t so widdddeeee #TopNotch,” Union humorously captioned the clip.
Wedge heels are re-entering shoe rotations this year as part of the current high heel renaissance. The style connects the soles and chunky heels to create a triangular “wedge” silhouette. Seen in many shoe styles, the most popular iterations can be spotted in ankle boots and sandals – like new styles from Giuseppe Zanotti, Blowfish Malibu and Marc Fisher. Besides Union, stars like Kylie Jenner, Anne Hathaway and Nicky Hilton have also worn sharp wedges from Givenchy, Armani and Castaner in recent weeks.
When it comes to shoes, Union always opts for the daring. The “Breaking In” actress often favors current trends, like flip flops from Magda Butrym, By Far and Gia Couture’s collab with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She is also known for wearing strappy sandals and tall boots from top brands such as Paris Texas, Tamara Mellon and Tabitha Simmons. When not on duty, Union prefers chunky sneakers from Adidas, Reebok and Nike.
